I am a graphic designer. I have developed my career between Spain and Chile and recently settled in the south of France. I learned the craft in Madrid, at the studio of Manuel Estrada (National Design Award 2017), who taught me the value of simplicity in graphic language.
I am interested in the synthetic power of stripped-down objects, and in the process of searching for them, intervening in them, and photographing them. I admire the work of Daniel Gil and the more than 3,000 book covers he created for Alianza Editorial; Alexander Rodchenko and Russian Constructivism; the clarity and functionality of the Bauhaus; and the stark elegance of the Polish poster artists of the mid-20th century. I am also drawn to the astonishing narrative power of Saul Bass’s film title sequences, the coherence between form and content in Paul Rand’s work, and the lyrical irony of Chema Madoz. I like to believe that all of them have influenced me.
I enjoy working in the field of culture and the arts: book covers, art catalogues, theatre and film posters, museum communication, and motion graphics for the audiovisual world. I seek to create images that engage in dialogue with the viewer, that suggest more than they say, and that open the door to a work, a story, or the next conversation. I prefer design that does not shout.
